So whilst England, and seemingly everywhere else in Britain was being plastered in snow, here I was in chilly Scotland, looking at blue skies, clear roads – and even getting everything I wanted at the shops !
Life can be good at times !
I had a quick Breakfast with Kate, and Chloe (who was delighted to see me !) and then I headed across Moray, towards Kinlochewe, stocking up as I went along, with what seemed like enough to feed 5,000 !! I’ve now got sufficient to last me at least 2 weeks !
The roads were clear as I travelled further west, although there were snow flurries, I was safely in Kinlochewe http://www.kinlochewe.com/ and Cairn Shiel by 1 p.m., and met the owner Frank. I’ve certainly got enough for all eventualities, it seemed to take me hours to unpack, and sort out what’s to go where !
Then it was time to have a ride along the road, beneath the Torridon giants of Beinn Eighe and Liatach, with Slioch in the distance. It was ferociously cold, with a strong wind (which always seemed against me !), but the sun was going down, bathing the snow covered tops in red sunlight, and giving me a taste of what’s to come !
Then it was back to Cairn Shiel, to cook dinner, settle down, and have an easy evening…
I wonder whether the Pine Martens http://www.welcometoscotland.com/about-scotland/wildlife-around-scotland/scottish-mammals/pine-marten will call ???
I’ll let you know tomorrow !
So, whilst Britain shivers under a snow blanket…I’m just shivering , Goodnight !
