The build up had started… Wayne arrived home from Afghanistan, to be greeted by Kate( ready for giving birth… to the twins !) and Chloe, glad to see her Dad !
So… what could I do – go out with my little sister Annette to celebrate her 50th Birthday, with a Ladies High Tea in Manchester, although I ( and Pop ) had a Gentleman’s tea… with champagne of course !
Then the call came… time to go up to Scotland, ready for the arrival of the twins…I arrived just after the middle of the month, re-acquainted Chloe with the beach in Lossiemouth, did some more star gazing…and just managed a bit of biking at Glenlivet…before I was Officially on duty with a (not too) early morning wake up call… ‘ Dad… my waters have broken….and then they were off ‘!!
Me and Chloe didn’t have long to wait, as by 4-30 p.m. that afternoon Jacob David Joseph and William were born !! Two happy ,but little babies, to add to my ever growing band of Grandchildren , and we were soon into the Hospital to do some juggling, something I was to try and get used to over the next couple of weeks !
We didn’t have to wait long for the new arrivals to be ready for home, and soon I was ‘relaxing’ in the peace and quiet of Lossiemouth…!!
I managed to get another bit of stargazing in…wandering across to the beach most nights…however a slight hiccup occurred the following night, as I was ready to set off for a big nights forecast ‘Aurora watch’… the little ones were unwell, and had to go back into Hospital… Oh dear, Chloe was in bed asleep as I got some messages about the spectacular display of the ‘Northern Lights’ all around me …what could I do…. sneak out into the back garden, to see what I could… -a fantastic show was clearly on, as even though there was street lighting all around me… what a night to be babysitting… still that’s what Grandad’s are for…. I still managed to see a spectacular display all around me !
Breathtaking… maybe my reward for a winter in Scotland !
Soon the twins were home again, and I was ready for a bit of fun in the snow !
