Where’s the Summer Gone to ??

I’d arrived home at the end of June…not stopped since – without my usual startling travels…although I’ve had great fun seeing Children,Grandchildren and friends up and down the country…

I started by having a quick trip up into the Lake District, over striding Edge,Helvellyn and re-acclimatising to the English weather, which was nice…but cool to me !

Then, what I’d really come home early for…my Dad’s 90th Birthday https://www.flickr.com/photos/gribbenphotos/albums/72157655043363760 Lot’s of great photos there, of Dad me, and all the family…in County Levenshulme !

Mid August had me at my sisters wedding in Manchester – congratulations Annette + Steve… followed by a ‘quiet reception, at my old ‘works club’ !! ( I paid the price the next day… in charge of 2 Grandchildren !)

Followed by a week with my little Grandaughter, who stayed with me for a week…until we both fell asleep exhausted…. and I took her home to Buckinghamshire…for a few quiet days with her brothers ! Then onto my sons and Grandsons in Surrey,

a quick weekend visit to London and England v Ireland (who do I support !?) at Twickenham, ready for the World Cup… and back home, in time to catch the Tour of Britain going through Buxton ( on my Birthday !), and climbing a hill which I often do… with Sir Bradley Wiggins bringing up the rear ! (and Mark Cavendish in the team car, which I overtook in traffic !)

Then… time for a rest on this handily placed deck chair… before a quick flying visit to Lanzarote… for some late summer sun, volcanoes and swimming with the fishes in the warm Ocean…

So…that’s it ! –although I’ve missed out loads, that’s the gist of it…

The summers gone….

it must be time for……some travelling up to Scotland !
