A Quiet Weekend…

It’s been a relatively quiet weekend, with a ‘sportive ‘start to the weekend, when I had decided to start early, and drive into the supermarket at Bastia..for supplies to keep me BBQ’ing… and ended up with me being stuck in a side street, where someone had decided to double park blocking the street, and a rather ‘unhelpful’ Frenchman shouting at me (and also refusing to help )..so in my best English…I shouted back !

Eventually I did make it to the supermarket, and back to camp, with most of what I needed (although still no new camera), and then proceeded to have a cooling swim, lunch and snooze, before I continued reading another of the loads of books I’d put on my Kindle…I also shocked the camp staff asking when/where mass was in the morning..they couldn’t help much, although I did find a webpage later which gave me some clues (later found them wrong !).. and that was it another day in the heat… with a nice surprise in the afternoon, and an invite to call at Lynne, Fabrizio and Elizabeth’s in Chiavari,Italy after Corsica –what a pleasant invite, thanks !

Sunday morning I was up early for a lounging breakfast of Coffee and Pain au Chocolat, before showering, and getting my ‘Sunday Best ‘ (clean shorts/shirt/undies !) on, and cycling about 10kms along the coast road, to Erbalunga, only to find mass wasn’t there at 10-30, but another 3kms at Lavasina…and I had 10 minutes to get there..which I did manage, IMG_3030although as I got inside the church I was soaked in sweat (so much for the clean clothes!), however by the end of mass I had started to dry out a bit.. only about 25 people there, in  a lovely old church ..IMG_3032as I got outside I had a quick look round Lavasina, then it was back on the bike for the ride back to the campsite, by now approaching mid day, and very, very hot ! I got back to the campsite, and treated myself to a nice salad lunch and cold white wine in the Restaurant..before another snooze , lovely !

A swim in the pool later followed by a sustaining steak BBQ, ready for my early adventures tomorrow…

so, wishing My Dad, and all Father’s a ‘Happy Fathers Day’ I’ll wish you all Bonne Nuit
