Bedraggled,Dizzy…and Jellybabies !!

Monday was a day best forgotten…

I’d contaminated one of my fresh water bottles during the night, as the rain continued hammering down…although by morning the sun was shining again, and I rode down towards St Tropez, trying to find a route up to ‘Plan de la Tour’, but couldn’t find the connecting route, so because the roads were so clogged up and busy I had ridden along the cycle path for a while, although that was ‘clogged up’..with tourists !!

So I stopped in Port Grimaud,IMG_2930 Cogolin Marina, where i was convinced I’d found Mark Cavendish’s boat for the TdF !! A big motor launch was secreted in a corner of the marina, I decided it must be his..and hung around to try and spot someone I may know…seems I was wrong, the boats normally there.. http://www.elmarine.com/dragon-yacht-charter.html although there’s still a chance, I’ll have to keep my eyes open in Corsica !

IMG_2934Then it was back to Wally, via our favourite campsite Camping De La Plage.. where we’d had a great time on our first European trip, many years ago.. and once back at Wally I proceeded to spill an entire kettleful (2 litres)  of water over all my sleeping bedding and seats…and had to spend the rest of the day rotating things round to try and dry them out…IMG_2937so not so lucky a day eh ? getting even worse later when I went to take a picture at the beach, to discover I’d broken the screen (again) on my camera, so now couldn’t review what I take, although it’s at least still working… so I had my final BBQ at Ste Maxime, and quaffed some wine and cheese with it

Tuesday I’ve been cleaning up and packing up ready for my move tomorrow to Corsica, and in the afternoon went to the IMG_2948beach for a swim to find…thousands of Jellyfish floating around in the sea…and I didn’t fancy joining them, so after a short while returned to Wally.. paid my bill, and rode into Ste Maxime seeing if I could locate a camera shop ( I couldn’t),IMG_2952 and having a last look round.. a big MSC cruise ship was anchored just outside St Tropez, with passengers being buzzed back and forth, some even coming across to Ste Maxime  -I treated myself to a big Italian ice cream, got some bread and back to Wally for final preparations for my move..

So next time you hear from me, I should be on the Island of Corsica, not sure whereabouts…preparing for the start of the TdF !!

Bonne Nuit !

  1. Dad, too much information on the water bottle, but careful you don't mistake it for your drinking one??
