A lovely sunny morning, and finally the wind had dropped form being hurricane force, to a gentle ‘stiff breeze’ !..
I had the pleasure of singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to my daughter Anna, whilst breakfasting on Pain au Chocolat and fresh coffee !
Then it was out with the bike, for my final day on the Camargue…I decided to return to the Bac du Sauvage, timing my arrival at the ferry reasonably, and set off across the river, seeing the Paddle Boat ‘Tiki’ which is moored near the campsite, as we crossed to the other side, and I then rode happily along the other side, however soon coming across hordes of flies and mosquitoes…must be the lack of wind , oh well..
I rode the 15 kms up to the main road, called in a roadside stall (and was given a nice cool sample of wine ),then headed back through the Sauvage with the wide plain of grasses either side of me, and lots of birds calling to each other as I rode along, timing my ride to get the return ferry..spitting out the flies as I zoomed along !
It’s very peaceful on this side, I was soon back at the ferry, and flashing back to the campsite for a nice lunch, and shade from the afternoon sun, satisfied with my 30 kms bike ride…
It’s only a matter of packing up later today, and moving on tomorrow to St Tropez bay area…I think !
Happy Camping …and an early Bonne Soir !
