Up really bright and early, setting off well before 7, into the misty murky forest above Bercetto, for what was supposed to be a difficult climb up and over the Passo del Cisa.... It wasn't raining, more low cloud and mist, so 4 of us headed up the main road, which should be kept quiet by the conditions
The gradient wasn't too bad, nothing like the Grand St Bernard pass, so as we came upon the bar and shop at the top, and still before 9 am I was well pleased!!
After a drink we headed down, all going differing ways, I took some side roads down and down, in the by now hot sunshine
I made it into Pontremoli shortly sfter 3 pm, to the Capuchin convent, and a nice single room for 10€... Bargain!!
I also met up again with the two Australians Sandy and Peter who were having to fly back to Australia, due to a close family member dying... So sad they'd had to abandon their pilgrimage (for another time) so I spent the evening reminiscing with them... A little too late!!
