I decided that today I would have a ride into nearby Gruissan http://www.gruissan-info.com/eng/index.htm to see if I could find the church, and mass times for Sunday.
So setting off late morning, I again rode along the nearby Canal, quickly going off in another direction, along an excellent cycle path, which took me through the salt marshes, and drainage channels, around a large inland lake area, and into Gruissan, which was dominated, on the seaport side by an old ruined castle and tower- which I found to have beneath it the church, with all the information I needed !
The church contained some lovely stained glass windows, and old statues and paintings
the streets surrounding the church had lots of market stalls and traders dotted around – I even bought some ‘magic bag closers’ (which aren’t as good as I thought !), and after a ride around this nice town and port area, I headed back to avoid the really hot sun, and get some shade and an afternoon read and snooze !
In the early evening I again chanced the trip into Narbonne to connect on the internet, with my newly fixed computer, and back for a BBQ, just before some evenings rain !
Another 29 miles riding today…I can hardly walk !
