A leisurely start from Ostello Sigerico, with a sparse, but usual breakfast and then I was off , up through Gambasse Termini, and soon I was off the Tarmac and onto dirt roads, nice but reflect the sun so hot!!
I knew I didn't have too far to go today so took it easy... Taking in the views, smelling the flowers and listening to the birds singing... Must be the romantic in me!!
I went through Panacole, where there is a miraculous painting... The church was closed... Even though I asked the priest!! So I had a drink and carried on!
Soon I got distant views to San Gimignano, one of Tuscanys most visited towns, with lots of towers inside the town walls...
... And once I got there I realised it - it was overrun with hordes of tourists... So I didn't stay, having been there before
I got some food and made my way out 3 kms to Santa Lucia, with distant views back to the town
..where the campsite has recently opened a 'pilgrim village' - about 8 mobile homes, all split into two superset units, specifically for pilgrims to stay in - what a fantastic situation, and great price at 10€ in one of the most popular spots in Italy!!- thank you, whoever is responsible!!
I had a relaxing afternoon, ate in the restaurant... And early night, ready for a big day tomorrow!!
