Thursday 9th June - Climbing up and up.... Again!!

We were all up at 6 am ready for another day of climbing up and over the differing hill ridges... So I had several bananas and a couple of cups of tea... Before setting off into the black skied countryside:

Up the road firstly to Terenzo, and along the quiet road further upwards until we got to an open bar... And a nice hot tea and cakes!! The rain had stopped so we were able to pack the waterproofs away... That's better!

Over the top and down through the forest tracks and into Cassio for just after 11 am... For more food... Salami and cheese sandwich. And tea... Before leaving and back up into the hills towards the days destination... Bercetto... We had to cross lots of differing cols, often marked:

and passing several almost empty hill villages and wayside shrines... and looking down beneath us at the ever changing views (mainly of trees and woods!)

 

















By mid afternoon we arrived in Bercetto, to settle in at the parish accommodation... 

After cleaning up I went to the restaurant where we were to eat later to finally see a 'Pilgrim menu'!! And another cathedral to look around..

We did try to get to bed early, as we knew it was a tough day to follow.... But the pilgrims menu was a bit slow... Still we were all snoozing by 10, ready for the day ahead...
