I’d decided to have a lie in this morning, after my late and tiring day yesterday…although I was up ready for the Olympic Road Time Trial races. Firstly the women's, which was shown in it’s entirety –as an American won !, then the coverage was switched to Archery ! and Football !, just as I was ready to witness Bradley Wiggins win Gold ! ,so I didn’t see it, and had to satisfy myself with the knowledge of his win later – well done Bradley ,great gold – (did I ever tell you the story of when Bradley Wiggins lived in my home village ?, and whilst he was out on a training ride, Jotown overtook him –what speed !)
So, I decided to return to the Hirshorn museum http://www.hirshhorn.si.edu/collection/home/#collection=home for some modern day art – great stuff ! A startling sculpture of a man, inside a corner of a room was a great surprise !
Then having completed this museum I decided it was time for some lunch, a musing in the sculpture garden, with a very relaxing pool , and trail back to the Hotel to catch up on my blog, stay out of the hot sun..and watch GB Football team beat Uruguay in the Olympics… followed by a swim in the pool, an early and healthy dinner nearby, and an early night to pack and go to Chicago in the morning…So, I’ll leave you with the image of another thinker I found today….Goodnight from DC..
