Saturday 14th May - They're still hiding!!

Up bright and early, and out of the parish accommodation:

just before 8 am to catch the bus back down to where we'd walked the day before - Ouchy dock, on the edge of the lake, and started walking in overcast conditions along the side of the lake... Lots of nice houses and hotels were built along the edge, and we had good views of them as we walked along

We made good progress up through Pully and Loutry, mainly along the Lake shore before arriving late morning in Colly for elevenses... And sheltering from some brief showers!! 

We then left the lakeshore and climbed up into the vineyards and fields contouring the terraced slopes... Looking at the mountains in the distance, still hiding in the clouds

 








As we stopped for lunch amongst the vines, I found a heavyweight visitor on my pack!!

 










The skies darkened once again, the rains came in, and that was it... the mountains, (what little we'd seen of them) had gone for the day.

 















We got into Montreux late afternoon in heavy rain, and lastly to the youth hostel at Montreaux Territet, where we had an excellent cheap jab dinner... With a little time to watch over the lake as the sun dropped through the clouds and an early night, hopefully better weather for the next few days...
